Overview
Reports turn operational data into profit, commission, and performance views—supporting weekly reviews without exporting everything to spreadsheets.
How to access
Reports from the main menu — common entry points:
- Invoice profit —
/reports/invoice-profit - Commission breakdown and related reports under Reports submenu (per navigation config)
Requires
reports:view or equivalent permission. How do you run invoice profit reports with filters (date range, team, etc.)?
Run invoice profit reports with filters (date range, team, etc.).
- Run invoice profit reports with filters (date range, team, etc.).
- View commission breakdown where enabled for your business.
- Export or print depending on report screen capabilities.
- Complement dashboard widgets with deeper tabular reports.
Prerequisites
- Reports permission.
- Invoices, jobs, and cost data entered consistently for meaningful profit numbers.
- Commission rules configured under settings where your business uses commission tracking.
Step-by-step
Invoice profit report

- Run report → review revenue, cost, margin columns.
- Export if button available.

Current limitations
- Not a full BI suite—no arbitrary drag-and-drop report designer in main app (see Data Explorer).
- Real-time job costing may lag until invoices post.
- Multi-location consolidated GL reporting may need ServiceFlow Accounting.
- Custom report builder for end users is limited.
Roadmap
- Saved report subscriptions emailed weekly.
- Deeper marketing attribution (campaign → won revenue).
- Technician scorecards on mobile.
Example: margin on last month's invoices
A user with reports:view opens Reports → Invoice profit at /reports/invoice-profit, sets the date range, and runs it. Columns are revenue, cost, and margin for invoices in that window. If cost was never entered on the job or the price book, margin is not meaningful. Fix the source data. Do not treat a blank cost as zero profit you can quote to the owner.
Commission breakdown appears when the business uses commission rules. It is not on every account. Export or print only if that report shows the button. Dashboard widgets are the summary. This report is the table. Data Explorer is the ad-hoc query when the fixed report has no filter you need.
A technician without reports permission does not get the menu. Date range is the filter that stops a report from mixing last year into this week. Run it after invoices for the period are actually saved, or the total will move the next morning.
